Checking OCR files…
The one-time engine download may be tens of megabytes. English and Urdu language models are bundled with the app. OCR uses device memory and may be slow on large documents.
For food or shop receipts, choose Receipt / invoice and English. Crop tightly, keep the text sharp, and avoid the Smallest PDF preset for text extraction.
Scan or import pages, then tap Recognize.
Check each page against the scan. Corrected English/Latin text can be added to a searchable transcript appendix; the original OCR layer and scanned pages remain unchanged. Urdu edits are included as an attached UTF-8 text file, not a guaranteed corrected searchable text layer.
Choose the matching PDF only. OCR text stays on this device and is included in your unencrypted library backup.
After recognition, extract draft receipt details. Correct every field against the original receipt before exporting; prices are never assumed accurate.
Low-confidence text is flagged for review. OCR can still make mistakes, especially on faint thermal receipts, handwriting, legal documents, low-quality images, or Urdu. The original OCR text layer is unchanged. v0.9 can append corrected Latin transcript pages and attach the complete UTF-8 text. Urdu corrected text is not yet reliably searchable in PDF without an embedded Unicode font.
Draw black rectangles over sensitive details. SoloScan reconstructs all PDF pages from rendered pixels, removing the original selectable text and layers from the exported PDF. Your source PDF is untouched.
Careful: This is not the same as cropping or placing a black annotation on an original PDF. Check every exported page before sharing. Rasterization removes searchable text and can increase file size.
Install the PDF preview and PDF editing engines, select a PDF, then drag over confidential areas.
Check that stored PDFs still have valid PDF headers and compare estimated storage headroom before creating another backup. No file content is uploaded.
Run before major updates and periodically after exporting an encrypted backup. This is not a replacement for opening and verifying a restored backup.
Reorder, rotate or remove pages from an existing PDF. The original file is not changed.

Visual edits take priority over advanced number fields. Use Reset visual edits before using advanced number controls. Order numbers refer to the original PDF. Removed pages are excluded from the final PDF. Rotation uses original page numbers. Existing PDF annotations may be carried over by the PDF library; verify the result before discarding the source.
Insert or replace PDF pages, crop page margins, or stamp Latin text. Exports a new document without changing the original.
For Replace, enter the existing page number to replace. All pages from the additional PDF, or the single selected image, will be inserted at that position.
Margins measured as percent of each page. Crop affects what the PDF viewer displays; it does not permanently erase content.
Select a main PDF. Requires the same offline PDF editing engine already used in SoloScan.
Add your handwritten signature, text or highlighted areas to an existing PDF. Edits are applied locally and exported as a new PDF.

Encrypt a PDF inside a SoloScan .sscan file, or unlock a .sscan file back into a standard PDF.
Important: A .sscan file is not a password-protected PDF. Recipients need SoloScan to unlock it. Encryption uses AES-256-GCM with a password-derived key; the password cannot be recovered.
